Presiding over proceedings was presenter Elle Osili-Wood, who helmed last year's digital ceremony as well. Sony and Housemarque's Returnal was the big winner of the night, picking up Best Game as well as numerous other awards.

It's also worth celebrating that the public-decided EE Game of the Year award went to Unpacking, with the impressive indie game's developers flying in from Australia to pick up the gong.

The ceremony's organisers previously promised us that they'd go"out of our pyjamas and into our glitz", returning to a real-life ceremony after two years of online-only affairs, and they certainly kept to their word on that.

We also spoke to the developers of Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy ahead of the event, and you can click the link in the front half of this sentence of you want to see what they had to say.
